Steak, eggs, salmon, @Baxters, @Melburnian, @Peteski_AU, and degustation at Celsius

Got up at 5am with a hankering for steak n eggs, covered in butter of course.

Then the girl cooked up a second breakfast of salmon with dukkah and asparagus and haloumi (squeaky cheese!) on the BBQ, covered in butter of course.

For pre-dinner drinks headed over to Vern’s to catch up with @Melburnian and @Peteski_AU and a random other gay dude – been a while, forgot how much gay dude’s conversations revolve around the act of being gay, always amusing. Fags. :p

Turns out the foyer of my old building has had an antiques roadshow makeover inspired by Joker’s underpants.

Off to Celsius on Gouger for an 8-course dinner with the girl’s client. (paid for by him as an added bonus)

$120 bucks for the degustation – +$60 bucks for matched wines. (we stuck with our own wine choices)

“Atlantic salmon, beetroot, olive liqourice, lardo”.

I think that’s alien sperm on there.

“Silver whiting, prawn, celeriac, cauliflower, pea”.

This time they’ve successfully introduced alien bile into the meal.

“Pine mushroom, lamb sweetbreads, chestnut”.

What’s the deal with sweetbread? It’s not sweet, and it’s not bread? /Seinfeld

“Berkshire pork belly, cannelini, apple, boudin noir, almond”.

This was an extra $20 supplement. Of course we needed it with the seven other meals…

“Duck breast, fig, onion, eggplant”.

Now they’re just showing off how big their plates are.

“Coorong Angus, aligot, spinach, turnip, parsnip, bacon”.

I assume “aligot” is baby alligator. I’ll alow it.

“Viola, pistachio, blueberries, cheesecake”.

The restaurant isn’t BYO bees otherwise I would have tried to pollenate my dessert.

“Rhubarb, liquorice, white chocolate, passionfruit”.

Looks like a vegan redeye – and FWIW I’m a guy who doesn’t eat ANY sweets normally, so being assaulted with two desserts in one evening I can only assume I’ve got several types of diabetes now.

Delicious though.
