Adelaide to Hong Kong
Cashed up and ready to go.
Flight was about 10 hours from Melbourne – watched Dark *Something* with Johnny Depp about some vampire thing, fell asleep in last fifteen mins so no idea what happened. Then watched The Avengers again, why not eh? Then something else I don’t recall, so clearly forgettable.
Snagged a ride on the train from the airport to Kowloon Station, nifty piece of kit – nowhere near as many schoolgirls being fondled as Asian porn would have us believe.
Signs said something about a shuttle bus from the station to our hotel – got there and the geezer told us no.
Got a cab – a darling old Toyota Crown or something, reminded me of the 80’s – and total cost was like HK$23, which works out to about $3 bucks AUD.
Been a looooong day, we check in without too much hassle, but all I’d had today was about 3 pieces of beef black bean, the topping off a slice of pizza, and two piccolos of bubbly, also dealing with a strained knee from a recent Lofty jaunt where I stupidly ran down the declines and ten hours of sitting (I’m the only one who didn’t get up to take a dump several times) with it at awkward angles really exacerbated the issue.
So I was hungry and sober and could barely walk, two symptoms the bar would fix. Get to the bar – they say no. Starting to see a pattern forming.
Get up to the room, the girl says it’s complementary mini bar so I’m ready to go my hardest – on water and coke.
Ah well, a bit grumpy now, but we’re here, and tomorrow’s another day and stuff.
